About Us.

Hi, we're the Eastmonds. Rob, Amy, James, Elli, Emma, and Jake. We love to work together, play together, and just be family together. We are beginning a new adventure. We are moving from the city life to the country life, and are anxious to share our experiences along the way. We will be learning how to be more self sufficient through gardening efforts, raising animals, and trying new energy sources while becoming more green. We love our world, and want to be able to use it better and safer as it has been given to us from our Heavenly Father. We are very blessed because of our beliefs in our savior Jesus Christ. We hope you enjoy our blog, and hope to hear from you again!

Guess What? The chicks grew up and went to Coopege! (college for chickens)

Here are the chicks as babies

Grandpa Jerry and Uncle Matt are helping Rob to tear apart and rebuild the shed into a partial shed and coop. So glad
they could come and help!

Rebuilding the roof!

Setting up the chicken run

Chickens are enjoying their new home!

Ta Da, finished product (well mostly)

Inside the coop is the
roost, which they love!

The ramp to go up to the roost and future lay boxes!

We got five more chicks, and it's always fun to watch them.
Isn't it amazing how much they've grown in a matter of weeks?

Oh, and also, we are pretty sure the greyish chick is a rooster.

No more sleeping in!

Jakey's Birthday

We know when Spring is here, because Jake's Birthday always begins our Springs! He invited a few friends over, played games and ate cupcakes! It was nice to have a littler simpler party this time. They had just as much fun!

SURPRISE!

We always wake our kids up on the morning of their Bdays singing to them. A tradition we had in my family! It made for a great day!

Eating cupcakes!

What a Kid!

Jake's party with his cousins, aunts, and uncle!

This is a big year for Jake. He is 5! He will start Kindergarten this year! Happy Birthday Jake! We love you!

Elli's Birthday

We started off 2009 with a bang! Elli's birthday always starts our years off. She decided to invite all her old and new friends. We had about 18 kids over for her party. That's 4 large pizzas, 20 pc. bucket chicken nuggets, 4 soda bottles, oreo bon bons for choc. lovers, and sugar cookies for those not fond of chocolate. Lots of ice cream! They had a blast playing games and running around the house. I am so glad we finally have the room!

James and Jackson had a fun time playing mini pool most of the night!

Rock Band was a Big Hit!

Happy Birthday! We love you Elli!

This is a fun slide show James put together. Turn down the blog music to hear slideshow music. This has been a fun adventure so far! A Lot of work and still plenty more to go, but it is liveable and warm and we love it! It would never have been possible without EVERYONE'S help. From the day we moved in until a few days ago, we had about 45 people visiting us and staying with us. We also met our wonderful tenants. We are so grateful for all of you! We love you all!! Thanks again!! We look forward to many more fun adventures with you all! Look for more slideshows of the Holidays!

Smoothies anyone?

Guess what everyone...James is makin' smoothies! He's planning to have a cool little smoothie shack (like j-dawgs) called Smoothie Jazz. If you feel like a smoothie while you're at our new house, you have to try one of mine. If you don't believe me, ask Grandma and Grandpa. If you want to comment on flaves, just make a comment. I'm always searching for new ideas. Well, anyway, I guess that's all. Keep comin' to the eastmond echo!

Our New House

Our new house was quite the ride for us, and now...It's Ours!! We got news of this Dec. 4 in the afternoon! We're soo excited for this, because it is so perfect for us! The girls are especially excited about animals... such as the exotic chicken and other amazing creatures. Grandpa Jerry is most excited about us getting him a pet goat to take care of when he comes. He searches ads to find great deals on goats. We are very excited for him, and will be his goatsitters with pride. We hope our first night in this house is Christmas Eve. We welcome any help, for this task will be a great one. We also welcome any Christmas visitors, and if you need to spend the night, feel free. We'll have plenty of room.
